About Us

Re-Techno Charge is a small charging gear business in Manteca, California. We sell power banks, chargers, solar panels and power stations, and we tell you the capacity in a number you can actually use.

Why we started

Walk into any shop and every power bank shouts a number at you. 20000mAh. 30000mAh. Fast charge. Nobody tells you how many times that actually refills your laptop, and for most of those boxes the honest answer is once, if you are lucky.

The number that tells you something is watt hours. It is on the side of every battery by law, and almost nobody puts it in the listing because it is a smaller number than the mAh figure. We put it on every page, in the title where it matters, and in the calculator on the front of the site.

What we sell

Forty two products across five groups:

• Power banks from a 5000mAh pocket size to a 50000mAh unit for a work van
• Magnetic and wireless banks, stands and desk kits
• Braided cables, gallium nitride wall chargers and car chargers
• Folding solar panels from 20W to 100W and power stations from 120Wh to 400Wh
• Travel, office, household, van life and wholesale kits

The range runs from a thirteen dollar cable to a three hundred and ninety dollar station and panel kit.

What we will tell you that others will not

The solar lid on a solar power bank does not charge it in any useful sense. It trickles at around five percent an hour in direct sun. It is a backup for day four of a hike, not a charging method, and we say so on the product page rather than after you have bought one.

The same goes for charge counts. A 74Wh bank does not give you seven phone charges. About a fifth of the stored energy is lost as heat on the way out, so it gives four. We build that loss into the calculator on the home page instead of quoting the flattering number.

The airline thing

Airlines allow a lithium battery up to 100 watt hours in hand luggage with no paperwork. Between 100Wh and 160Wh you need the airline to agree in advance, and most will not. Nothing with a lithium battery is allowed in checked baggage at all, whatever the size.

Every product page says which side of that line it sits on. Our 27000mAh bank is exactly 100Wh on purpose, because that is the largest thing you can put in a bag and walk onto a plane with.

Selling to shops

The ten, twenty and thirty unit packs are boxed and barcoded for a shelf, with a written note on what sold fastest for other shops that took the same pack. If you need more than thirty at a time, email us and we will quote it properly.

Where we ship from

Everything goes out from 642 Sandalwood Ln in Manteca, California, to all fifty states. Anything with a lithium battery in it travels by ground rather than air, which is a carrier rule and not one we can waive.
