The rules that apply when you buy from Re-Techno Charge. Plain wording, no traps, and one section on battery safety that is worth reading properly.
Who you are buying from
Re-Techno Charge, trading from 642 Sandalwood Ln, Manteca, CA 95336, United States. Placing an order means you accept these terms.
Orders
An order is an offer to buy. The contract starts when we send you a shipping confirmation, not when you click the button. Until then we can decline an order and refund you in full. That would happen if an item has sold out, if a price on the page was wrong, if we cannot verify the payment, or if the delivery address is one a carrier will not take batteries to.
Prices
Prices are in United States dollars and shown on each product page. California sales tax is added at checkout where we are required to collect it. Shipping is calculated at checkout from the weight and shown before you pay.
We can change prices at any time but never after you have placed an order. If a price is obviously wrong, for example a power station listed at three dollars, we can cancel and refund rather than honour it.
Capacity figures
Capacity is quoted in milliamp hours and in watt hours. The watt hour figure is the one to compare. Neither figure is the amount of energy that reaches your device, because roughly a fifth is lost as heat during conversion. We build that loss into the calculator on the home page and we describe it on this site rather than quoting the flattering number. Your real world result also depends on the device, the cable and the temperature.
Battery safety and your responsibilities
Lithium batteries store a lot of energy in a small space, and when they fail they burn rather than simply stopping. Almost every serious incident traces back to physical damage, heat or a bad charger.
You agree to charge these products only with the supplied cable or an equivalent certified charger, to keep them out of direct sun and out of a parked car in summer, not to open the casing, not to charge a unit that has been dropped hard or has got wet, and to stop using anything that swells, smells or gets too hot to hold. Charging unattended overnight on a bed or a sofa is the single most common way a small fault becomes a serious one.
We are not liable for damage caused by use that ignores these points, by modification, or by charging from an uncertified source.
Air travel
It is your responsibility to check what your airline allows. In general, batteries up to 100 watt hours go in hand luggage with no approval, 100Wh to 160Wh needs the airline to agree in advance, and nothing with a lithium battery goes in checked baggage. We put the watt hour figure on every page so you can check. We cannot be responsible for an item confiscated at an airport.
Stock
Stock numbers are kept current but two people can reach the last unit at the same moment. If that happens we contact you within one working day and offer a wait, a different item or a full refund.
Warranty
Two years on anything with a battery, one year on cables, chargers and panels, on the terms set out on the refund and cancellation page. That page forms part of these terms, as does the shipping page.
Our liability
If we get something wrong we will put it right by repairing, replacing or refunding the item. Beyond that, our liability is limited to what you paid for the order. We are not liable for indirect losses such as data lost when a device ran flat, work missed, or the cost of alternative power.
Nothing here removes rights you have under United States or California consumer law that cannot be removed by agreement, and nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence.
Using the site
The text, photographs, logo and layout belong to Re-Techno Charge or are used with permission. You may not copy them for another business. Do not attempt to break into the site, scrape it in bulk, or interfere with how it runs for other people.
Device and phone brand names appear on this site only to describe what a product works with. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any device manufacturer.
Accounts
If you create an account, keep the password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under it. Tell us if you think someone else has got in and we will lock it.
Wholesale orders
Units bought in packs of ten or more may be resold. You may not present them as your own brand, and you may not repeat our capacity or cycle life figures as your own testing. Quantities, prices and the size mix on a wholesale order are agreed per order and are not a standing arrangement unless we put one in writing. If you resell, you take on the duty to pass the battery safety information to whoever buys from you.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays caused by things we cannot control, including severe weather, wildfire road closures, carrier strikes, power failures and acts of government. If such a delay runs past thirty days you can cancel the affected part of the order for a full refund.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute that cannot be settled between us goes to the courts of San Joaquin County, California.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published on the day you placed it. Changes are never applied backwards to an order already made.
